Brian’s already spectacular soap base gets a little boost with the addition of the goat’s milk. I’ve had no problem getting the most wonderful slick and creamy lather from any of his soaps, but I like the goat’s milk base the best. I notice it most in the post-shave.

More scents in this base please!

Great fragrance, but what astounded me was the performance of this soap. IMO, Brian has one of the best soap bases that i have tried in my 4 years of wetshaving. At least or even better than the well versed american artisan’s. Thick&slick lather, incredible post-shave feel. I have used this soap more than my other soap brands such as B&M, A&E, WK, PAA, GD. Brian has nailed this base. I like his simple scents. Good job! Sorry for my late review.

Don’t let the fact that this soap isn’t scented dissuade you. Don’t let the fact that it doesn’t contain tallow put you off. Don’t worry either that its label isn’t psychedelic or that it comes housed in a plain metallic tub. Instead, take out your credit card and click ‘add to cart’. Believe me, you won’t regret it. Simply put, this is by far the greatest shaving soap on the market. And, I might add, one which beats all those pricey US artisan soaps hands-down.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve bought and delighted in many of Brian’s soaps. I’ve enjoyed the gorgeous aroma of Coria and discovered a lavender to rival Castle Forbes. The other day I purchased his Leodis and the scent had me hooked from the second it arrived.

Like his customer service, the performance of all Brian’s soaps is spectacular. But for me, the addition of goats milk gives Capra the edge. In short, it’s Brian’s masterpiece and the best shaving soap there is.

Signature Soaps are simply splendid! The performance of Brian’s core soap recipe is top tier and is one of the best – if not the best – that I have encountered in 10 years of traditional shaving. Slickness and cushion are both superb. This particular soap with added goats’ milk has the additional benefit of being incredibly kind to the skin, and actually manages to leave my face feeling better than before I shaved! This is not to downplay Brian’s fragranced soaps, which based on my experience so far are also excellent and worthy of a place in your collection, but if you have sensitive skin or simply want the best performing soap you can get without worrying about scents / fragrances, then Capra should be at the top of your list. Extra points to Brian for packaging his soap in sturdy, robust tins and providing generous quantities – it means that not only do signature soaps perform superbly, but they are also a good value compared to a lot of other artisan soaps.

This is a superb shaving soap! What surprises me is that not that many wet shavers are talking about it? Easily as good if not better than the highly lauded artisans that cost twice the price.
A fantastic base which has everything. Slickness, cushion, ease of lathering and fantastic skin conditioning properties, nice ingredients and wonderful value for money. I also like the lack of plastic in his packaging.

Secondly I must add that Brian’s customer service is exemplary. He also included some very generous additions and samples. Many thanks Brian I look forward to buying from you again!!!

I decided to purchase this after reading reviews on various forums as I needed something to use on the days my skin was agitated due to health issues. I tried using the main recommendations MWF and Tabac but they agitated my face during flare ups. Using this worked wonders and allowed me to shave when I wanted to instead of waiting for my flare ups to cool off. As others have said this soap is slick and easy to lather and the post shave feel is wonderful. This purchase is worth its weight in gold for me.
